The signature feature of all Priority models is the rust/grease-free Gates Carbon Drive belt. Utilizing technology derived from motorsports, the carbon fiber tensile cords that reinforce the belt allow it to last 2-3x longer than a standard chain, and the bike-specific tooth profile of the belt and sprockets help it feel smooth in all riding conditions. While a chain requires frequent lubrication and maintenance, the belt stays clean and efficient. Just give it a post-ride rinse and you’re ready to roll!
Hydraulic disc brakes are super reliable, work in all weather conditions, handle varied terrain with ease, and require very little maintenance. Paired with 700c x 32mm tires that have a puncture protection layer and reflective sidewalls, you'll be rolling in comfort and confidence here, there, and everywhere.
A low-drag Shimano Alfine 8-speed performance hub provides all the gearing you'll need to conquer climbing, commuting, or casual cruising. The Eight's internally geared hub is sealed from the elements making it easy to maintain and ideal for crummy weather riding. Plus, trigger shifters make banging through gears—even at a dead stop—an absolute breeze.
This sport hybrid is designed with speed AND comfort in mind. When it comes to the Eight, you won’t need to worry about being hunched over or uncomfortable. It's a nimble, athletic bike that still provides an upright frame geometry to keep your back and shoulders happy. Plus, it features multiple braze-on mounts for racks, fenders, bags, water bottles, and/or a child seat.
The Eight was designed with intention. It features a carbon fiber fork and seatpost that dampen bumps and reduce overall weight. The WTB Volt saddle is comfortable for cruising and performs great on fitness rides. Silicone foam grips are easy on the hands and provide additional shock absorption. At just 27 lbs, you can carry it up a flight of stairs or easily lift it onto a car rack.
Available in both Step-Over and Step-Through frame styles, the Eight is designed to fit a wider range of riders. Whether you prefer the classic feel of a traditional diamond frame or the convenience of an easier mount and dismount, both versions deliver the same comfortable, low-maintenance riding experience, accommodating riders from approximately 5'3" to 6'1".

Should I go with the Continuum Onyx, L Train, or Eight?
Nothing beats the Continuum Onyx as a bombproof four-season commuter. If you want all the included commuting-oriented features and CVT shifting, the Continuum Onyx is for you. If you want a sporty bike and prefer the classic look and feel of a chromoly steel frame, then it's all-aboard the L Train. If you want a lightweight, performance-oriented hybrid that's speedy yet comfortable with the low-maintenance benefits of a Gates Carbon Drive belt and Alfine hub, then the Eight is a great choice! What is the widest tire that can fit, and what is the narrowest?
The widest tire we'd recommend is 700x38, but it depends on the specific tire and tread. We suggest working with your local bike shop if you want to fit the widest tire possible. The narrowest tire we'd recommend is 700x25. Please contact us with questions!
Can the Eight accommodate a rack, baby seat, and/or fenders?
Yes! The Eight is compatible with most standard racks, baby seats, and fenders, including Priority Fenders. Mounting Priority Fenders requires an additional step. Please reach out to our support team if you plan to mount Priority Fenders.
How much does the Eight weigh?
27 lbs. You could probably even carry it up 8 flights of stairs!
What is the stock gearing, and can I change it?
The Eight comes with a 50-tooth front sprocket and a 22-tooth rear cog that we believe gives it a fast but useful gear range. We are not able to change gearing prior to shipping. However, it is possible for you to change to a 24-tooth rear cog for a slightly lower range, or to a 46-tooth front sprocket and a shorter 115-tooth belt for a much lower range. Or, combine the 46-tooth front and 24-tooth rear for an even lower gear range.
