10 Years of Priority Bicycles - EST. 2104

A Ten Year Thank YOU

It started with a basement workshop and a business plan with a handwritten note saying “THIS IS MY PRIORITY.” Ten years later, it’s 30 models, offices in NYC, SF, and PA, hundreds of fleets, and riders around the world getting on their Priority bicycles every day.

Over time, my desire to PRIORITIZE  building a new kind of bicycle company to make
buying, riding, and maintaining your everyday bicycle, became a bigger mission.  Priority became the name of the project, because as I quit my job, realizing that I really wasn’t happy doing it, it was about putting the things we love and the people we love first.  Priority became the place to share my passion for riding, combine it with my background in technology, and all while spending more time with friends and family.

Priority also became the guide for what we wanted to do.  What did we want to focus on with our bicycles? Well, it should be noted that we initially thought we would just make
one bike, but that’s a separate story.  We learned quickly that we wanted to have high quality bicycles that were low maintenance, we wanted to deliver best in class value, and we wanted to have the best customer service available.  In launching online, we knew we would only be as good as our last review, so making customers as happy as we hoped they’d be, was an all-hand’s goal.

With everything that’s changed, nothing’s changed.  It’s still a company that has its Priorities as aligned as the Gates Belt Drives on our bicycles.  From the days of pulling in Connor, Lauren and I answering calls and building bicycles in the basement, Patrick holding
down the warehouse in PA, to now – High Quality, Low Maintenance, Best in Class
Value, and great customer service…It’s a Priority.

At 10 years, we get to look a back and thank everyone along the way.  In the biggest way, thank you to the first Kickstarter backers to the rider who just got their first 600ADX five minutes ago.  We appreciate you trusting us on your daily adventures.  To the Gates team for helping us make great products and aim to better the experience for our riders.  To the countless colleagues and mentors who we happily call friends, who have helped us with advice.  To our fleet partners who trust their brand experiences in our hands with their guest bicycles, and lastly, to all of the Priority team members over the years, thank you for making my Priority OUR Priority everyday.
