The 750W rear hub motor uses torque-sensing to respond naturally to your pedaling, providing intuitive acceleration and serious power when you need it most. Whether you’re hitting 28mph on the flats or tackling hills with ease, the Skyline makes every ride smooth and satisfying—with or without assist, thanks to its balanced ride feel and throttle-on-demand option.
Say goodbye to clunky shifting. The Pinion Smart.Shift system delivers lightning-fast, electronic gear changes with a massive 600% range across 12 speeds. With Start-Select, the Skyline automatically shifts into your preferred starting gear when you stop—so you’re always ready to roll. And with Pre-Select, you can set your ideal pedaling cadence, and the gearbox will select the best gear to match your speed—keeping your ride smooth, efficient, and effortless.
The 720Wh battery is integrated seamlessly into the downtube, offering long-lasting power without the bulky look. Expect an extended range on a single charge, depending on assist level, terrain, and rider weight. And with a clean, internal cable layout, the Skyline looks as sharp as it rides.

We recommend sizing your Skyline based on your inseam—measured from the top of your crotch to the ground with your shoes off—for the most accurate fit.
You have questions. We have answers.
Is the Skyline UL 2271 or UL 2849 certified?
Yep — the Skyline is fully covered on both fronts. UL 2271 applies to the battery system and UL 2849 applies to the full e-bike drive system, including the motor, and the Skyline is certified for both.
Why a separate Smart.Shift gearbox and rear hub motor rather than a Pinion Motor-Gearbox-Unit (MGU)?
The MGU is a promising piece of technology and offers excellent climbing capabilities. However, we’ve found that a rear hub motor is better suited for urban environments, allowing riders to maintain traffic speed with ease. Additionally, the Skyline features a throttle—an important feature for many commuters and everyday riders—which is not currently compatible with the MGU system.
Why would riders prefer the Skyline over the Current?
The Current is a fantastic all-around recreational and commuting bike, but the Skyline takes things to the next level. With a more powerful motor, premium components, and the advanced Pinion Smart.Shift gearbox, it delivers a more refined and responsive ride. The addition of a front suspension fork also makes the Skyline better equipped for rougher roads and mixed terrain.
Can you fit a baby seat?
The stock rack on the Skyline is not compatible with most baby seats. However, owners can opt to replace the rack and rear fender with an aftermarket rack that supports baby seat installation. We recommend working with a local bike shop to ensure proper fit and safe setup.
What are the widest tires that can fit on the Skyline?
The Skyline comes with 27.5 x 2.0” (650b x 50mm) tires, which offer an ideal balance of speed, comfort, and puncture resistance. These are the widest tires that will fit with the stock fenders. If you remove the fenders, you can fit tires up to 2.4” wide, but you’ll need to relocate the rear light. Because tire sizing can vary by brand, we suggest working with a local bike shop if you choose to go wider.
Where can I mount accessories on the Skyline?
The Skyline includes three mounting eyelets on the top side of the downtube and three on the top side of the top tube—perfect for bottle cages, top tube bags, or FoldyLocks. It also has mounts for racks and fenders, and comes stock with both already installed.
Can I mount a dropper post?
No, the Skyline is not designed to accommodate a dropper seatpost. However, a suspension seatpost can be a great upgrade for added comfort.
What class is the Skyline, and how fast can it go?
The Skyline ships as a Class 2 e-bike—with a throttle and a 20mph speed limit. However, pedal assist can be adjusted to Class 3 mode, allowing speeds up to 28mph. (Be sure to check local regulations.)
What is the battery range?
We’ve tested the Skyline to deliver a range of 20 to 60+ miles per charge, depending on assist level, terrain, rider weight, speed, and use of the throttle.
What is the power of the motor?
The Skyline’s rear hub motor delivers 750W of nominal power, 1056W at peak, and 90Nm of torque. It offers strong, responsive acceleration that keeps up with traffic and handles hills with ease—especially when paired with the Skyline’s torque sensor and Smart.Shift gearbox.
What if I want to change the gearing?
The stock gearing is 39t/28t with a gear inch range from 20” to 120”. For riders who want lower gearing for easier climbing, changing to a 30t rear sprocket would work with the stock belt and offer a gear inch range from 18.5” to 111”. For riders that want lower cadence at high speed, changing to a 26t rear sprocket works with the stock belt and offers a gear inch range from 21.5” to 129”.
How do I set up Start.Select or Pre.Select Mode?
It is easy! All you need to do is download the Pinion Smart.Shift companion app and sync your bicycle. We have a full guide with detailed information here: Skyline Control Manual
