Tom Babin is an award-winning journalist, author, and the creator of Shifter, a YouTube channel, blog, and newsletter about exploring cities from the seat of a bike, with more than 125,000 YouTube subscribers. Based in Calgary, he has commuted by bike since 2002, wrote the Pedal blog for the Calgary Herald, and is the author of Frostbike: The Joy, Pain and Numbness of Winter Cycling. His message is simple: don't overthink it, just start.

That mindset is what brought Tom and Priority together. We share the belief that the best commuter bike is the one you never have to think about, and Tom has ridden with the Priority community in Seattle, ahead of a 190-mile trip to Vancouver with Cascade Bicycle Club, and at the Montréal Go Bike Festival. The bike he rides is the Continuum Onyx, a belt-drive commuter with an internal CVT hub, dynamo-powered lights, and built-in fenders, made to handle any weather with almost no maintenance.
