Removing a chain and derailleur frees you of maintenance, upkeep, and field/conditions damage. With the Pinion Smart.Shift system, you gain lightning-fast gear shifting, 600% gear range for top end speed and low end climbing, and a balanced, low center of gravity ride. The Pinion Smart.Shift system delivers 10,000 shifts on a charge and 6000 mile service interval (nearly 2 rides on the Continental Divide).

With a Gates Carbon Drive belt instead of a standard chain, there's no rust, no grease, and no routine maintenance to deal with. Strong enough for automotive application but specifically designed for the rigors of everyday cycling. Unchain your ride and free yourself from dirty hands, skipping chains, and greasy pant legs.
Drop Bar Shifting
Experience virtually immediate gearshifts at the touch of a button. The TRP Hywire integrated brake/shift levers offer a familiar and ergonomic feel with easy-to-reach shift buttons that are accessible from the hoods or the drops. With a modern shape, the 174 Hudson gravel handlebars offer multiple hand positions for comfort on a long ride, and 12-degrees of flare, the drops give confidence-inspiring leverage on technical descents.
Responsive Geometry
The geometry on the butted 6061 aluminum or Ti frame splits the difference between road and mountain bikes perfectly by offering more comfort and capability than a gravel race bike, but more performance than the “monster-cross” bikes out there. The upright ride with flared drops offers more comfort with the ability to gather and maintain speed.

We recommend sizing based on your leg inseam. To properly determine your inseam, measure from the top of your crotch to the ground with your shoes off. Please watch the below video and contact us any time with questions!

How long does the battery last?
Depending on shift frequency, Pinion anticipates 100 riding hours before recharging is required.
Can I shift the Smart.Shift gearbox under full pedaling power?
The Smart.Shift gearbox allows you to shift without pedaling, and while pedaling under moderate power. Under full power the gearbox can time the gear change to happen when your crank arms are in the vertical position for the most optimal load.
Is the shifting programmable?
Yes! You can download the Pinion Smart.Shift app to connect to the gearbox via bluetooth. Once connected you can calibrate the gearbox, and change button configuration. The Gemini does not have an autoshift function.
Is the Gemini Tubeless compatible?
Yes, the WTB rims and tires on the Gemini are tubeless compatible. All you need to set the bike up tubeless is tubeless tape, a tubeless valve, and sealant. We suggest having your local bike shop set it up for you.
Is the Gemini compatible with a dropper seatpost?
Yes, the Gemini has stealth cable routing for a 31.6mm dropper seatpost. It routes internally in the seat tube and externally along the underside of the downtube.
What kind of titanium is the titanium frame version of the bike?
Grade 9 titanium (Ti 3Al-2.5V)
Max tire width?
700c x 50mm, but tires vary based on tread, make, and rim width. Check with your local bike shop for further detail.
Can I change the gearing?
The stock gearing is 39/32T, which offers gear inches
from 18.5 to 112”. Changing to a 34t rear and a 118t belt will lower
the gearing to 17.5” in lowest gear and 105.5” in highest gear.
Changing to a 28t rear and a 113t belt will raise the gearing to
21.1" in lowest gear and 118" in the highest gear.
Should I get the Gemini or the Apollo?
The Apollo is the better choice for fast, efficient riding on road and light gravel, since it has a more forward riding position, lighter weight, and faster rolling tires for those conditions. The Gemini is the better choice for steep climbs, longer days, and more rugged terrain.
Can you convert this to a flat or riser handlebar?
Yes, but the conversion requires new brakes and brake levers, the handlebar itself, grips, and a flat bar shifter (we do not have them available for sale).
Is the bike compatible with a rack and fenders?
Yes, the Gemini is compatible with full fenders with up to 40mm tires and is compatible with a rear rack. We do not recommend using a front rack with the Gemini’s fork.
